Jim arrived early and examined the entire house inside and outside, from the basement to the roof. He was very thorough and pointed out all of the items that he thought would need attention at some point. He picked up on many things that I thought would not be obvious even to a trained eye. Every question I asked Jim gave me an intelligent reply to. Jim took many photos, dictated his report, and mailed his report to me before he left. I’d say Jim’s rates are in line with what other inspectors seem to charge. This is about as good as it gets, this dude really knows what he is doing. He has my highest recommendation.

Fabulous; have bought and sold RE a couple of times, this is the first time in MA and for our primary residence. James (“Jim”) Brock was great, showed up 30min early to do an external home inspection so when we arrived, he could quickly summarize everything outside. When we went inside, another man from his firm was doing the electrical and HVAC parts of the house, so our time was well focused Jim was patient, explaining everything, dictating all into his write-up there on the spot, and taking pictures. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I own one unit in a two unit condo. They were hired by the potential purchaser of the other unit. The inspector removed the cover to the electric meters serving the entire building, which he had no business doing, and left the cover lying on the ground, where I found it when I returned home from work, with the master breakers left exposed to the weather or anyone passing by. Not only did he refuse to come back and remedy his negligence, he was patronizing and insulting (see attached image).

Mr. James Brock, at Boston Home Inspectors, is very professional in any and all aspects: quickly responsive, on-time, professionally friendly with great explanations throughout his inspection. Half way though the job, he took a phone call where he proceeded to scream profanities into the phone while my daughter looked on. Also, the pricing estimate was much different than what I paid.
