District Home Inspectors
Scott Robertson, owner and operator of District Home Inspection, received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park and paid for his education as a crew leader for the school’s carpentry department. He also received a certificate in Project Management from the University of California, Berkeley. Scott worked in the global telecommunication business for two decades, traveling the world and training engineers to use cellular network modeling software. During this time, he developed valuable skills, including an acute attention to detail and an understanding of complicated systems. These skills led him to the home inspection industry.
I was very happy with Scott’s work! The reports he produces are detailed and well organized so that you can easily identify the priority fixes needed. Highly recommend!
I recently secured Scott’s services to inspect two properties in which I was interested in purchasing. I was not able to be present at the first inspection as I was out of the country so I had to rely solely on his written report. I was not particularly comfortable with making a decision on such a sizable investment without seeing the property first hand. However, when I read Scott’s report, it was as though I had been there in person. His report was incredibly detailed – full of photos and tiered observations and recommendations – from just bringing something to my attention that may require repair to being very clear that something must be addressed. His inspection report was so detailed that I had enough information on hand that led me to not put an offer on the house. He is clearly very knowledgeable on all aspects of home inspections. A few weeks later when I identified another house in which I was interested I contacted Scott again. This time I was present for the inspection. He was professional from the outset – on time, well dressed and polite. He asked that I shadow him during the inspection and talked me through all of his observations. The best part of his explanations was how he was able to break things down in layman’s terms – not referring to technology that would have been meaningless to me.
As first time home buyers, he took the time to explain each aspect of the inspection. He was thorough during the inspection and sent a detailed report within a couple of hours. The report was easy to understand, and included pictures, explanations, and severity ratings of each issue. We could not have hoped for a better home inspector and will make sure to hire him again in the future.
