He realized that when he arrived at the home Im sure ,but didnt bother to tell me that the price was going to be 60\$ more. He waited until the inspection was over, the verbal report was given , and then in front of the 2 realtors (when I couldnt have a conversation) he just said the price would be more. I believe that this was very unprofessional and taking advantage of the situation. I plan on reporting this to the Better Business bureau. The inspector had ample time and opportunity to tell me of the price change at the beginning of the inspection. His manipulation of the situation did not give me as a consumer the chance to refuse his inspection if I didnt want to pay his price.
The home inspection was actually very comprehensive. unfortunately the pricing structure was very shady. I was quoted one price on the phone and then at the completion of the home inspection I was charged a different price. I was told that the inspector didnt realize that the home had an in-law that needed to be inspected.
I would give Done Rite 0 stars if that were possible. Fred Butts, the owner, performed the inspection himself. His missed several things that shouldve been obvious to someone in his profession. Heres a list of some of the things he missed: Leaky roof that caused mold in the attic, rotted shingles on dormer (rotted so badly that there was a hole the size of a tennis ball), rotted sill in rear of house, and the house is infested with mice (mouse droppings found everywhere once I started looking).
In the process of buying our first home and Fred was terrific with our home inspection. Took the time to go over everything with us and was very thorough. Walked us through what was important and what were small tweaks that would be needed. Very knowledgeable and able to “dumb it down” so we could understand as first time buyers. Very good and would highly recommend.
Fred is knowledgeable and knows the codes. Always prompt! What I love the most about Fred, is that he is NOT an alarmist. He tells you the facts and then my clients and I can make informed decisions based on his inspections results. I’ve been using Fred for many years and would highly recommend him.
Josh did a fantastic job with my home inspection. His inspection was very thorough and his report outlined many small and some major issues that I was able to have the seller resolve. His inspection found a very critical safety issue with the chimney that saved me a very costly repair if I would have had to pay for it. A++++
