Firehouse Home Inspectors
Firehouse Home Inspections owner and lead inspector, Don Scott, wasn’t always in the home inspection business. After spending over 30 years in fire service and retiring from the Wellington Fire Department in Wellington, Kansas in 2004, Don began looking for a suitable encore. Unwittingly, Don had been preparing for a career in home inspection at WFD, carrying out training sessions on related topics like fire prevention, natural gas and carbon monoxide hazards, and more.
I recently hired Firehouse Home Inspections and I am extremely impressed with their service. The inspector was very thorough and knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything to me in detail. The report I received was comprehensive and easy to understand. I highly recommend Firehouse Home Inspections for anyone in need of a home inspection.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Firehouse Home Inspections!! Don & Wesley have refused to take responsibility for an inspection they performed and missed critical items that resulted in $$$ Thousands of dollars in repairs and future work needed. When we called to share our disappointment there was zero apologies, no follow ups, no offers to make things right just ignoring our phone calls and refusing to own up to their mistakes. We are a military family with a young toddler and expecting our second child that was excited to be moving into our new home…the very first night in our house we gave our 3 yr son a bath and drained it afterwards only to have the entire tub of water dump out into our kitchen and basement below. Firehouse failed to properly and thoroughly check the plumbing which we unfortunately found out the hard way. They also failed to disclose in their inspection that our older home build in 1925 still had knob & tubing throughout the house. They admitted to missing this on the inspection report and fabricated that they spoke to us about it which is an outright lie. We have 4 witnesses that were there and confirm that they failed to find and report that to us. We shared this to help others AVOID Firehouse Home Inspections.
He seemed very thorough in his inspection. We feel like he did a good job on 90% of the inspection, however, we are now dealing with a mold issue in the house (within 10 days of closing) and another inspection company found mold that was visible to the naked eye. He has agreed to come run some air tests at no charge. I will update my rating if things get resolved accordingly.
This father and son duo are Awesome! They review everything down to minute detail which is Exactly what I was hoping for! Hire them and you will not have any regrets!!!
