With an extensive background in the trade fields Jay Mercier is the right man for the job when it comes to home inspections. Not only does he expertly hande the inspection portion of the job, but he takes the time to explain to home buyers, and agents, the reasoning behind his decisions and the functions of all of the different elements that make up a home. I had a very last minute need for a home inspector and Jay assisted my clients. He was on time, informative, deeply knowledgeable, respectful to my client’s family, and turned the report around that evening. Jay is a licensed plumber and showed his rich knowledge of heating and plumbing systems while inspecting this very old property. His experience as a licensed inspector makes him very well rounded in his work. He proved there was existing knob and tube by looking behind old sconces and not relying on the open wiring in the basement that showed no signs of it. He was spot on with his findings and my clients were thrilled he represented them. They moved forward with their offer as informed Buyers.
