Reilly Inspections
In the early 1980’s, company founder J Reilly worked on commercial highrise and residential home construction in CT and NY with some of the largest construction companies at that time, including: Franford Construction of New Haven, Banton Construction of West Haven and Leviere of Wallingford, CT.
Mr. Reilly then founded Shannon Construction in 1985; it was later incorporated and renamed Shannon Group and Associates, LLC and was located in New Haven, CT. In the boom years that followed, he led the company into the Real Estate support arena and broadened the company offerings to include the following services: relocation inspection services, pest inspection and control, environmental inspections, and historical restoration consulting and services.
Always recommend Reilly Inspections to my clients buying a home. They are thorough and SO knowledgeable about things you would never think of when buying a home. And they give you the report at the end of the inspection (vs. having to wait 2-3 days like some other places) and then also do a final walk through the morning of closing at no extra charge. It’s just a great team and I appreciate their role in the home buying process.
They are my absolute go-to team for inspections. I trust them completely and they are helpful with suggestions and recommendations when an issue arises! Great people, that know what they’re doing! I’m most comfortable when they’re running my inspections!!!
Runs like a well-oiled machine! always my go-to when I’m working with a buyer, for my own personal purchases, and for sellers pre inspections before going on the market. Efficient, professional, and detailed, knows how to educate the buyer without scaring them.
Take your business elsewhere. I confirmed on the phone for an inspection for a pair inspection led by J Reilly whom I had read good reviews about. With no notice only a single inspector was sent. There was no pair inspection as promised. Additionally the inspection was not very through and completed in an hour compared to 2+ hours that was promised. Despite my requests some items were not checked. I made efforts to rectify this by contacting the owner J Reilly who was not willing to admit there was anything wrong with the change in personnel and quality of inspection. They also did not provide a walk through prior to closing as promised. Overall I was very unhappy with the quality of the service and the unwillingness of the business to work with the customer for genuine concerns.
Holy cow! This is my first home purchase so I have nothing to compare them to, but from my inexperienced first impressions, they were incredible!!!! My realtor (20 years in the business) was there too and he was so impressed he’s going to be using them for an inspection later this week. 3 people showed up (early too and after a call to see if early was ok) and my oh my were they efficient and professional. Someone on the roof, someone outside, another in the basement, then switching to other areas. Not only did they go over the report at the end of the inspection, but they brought areas of the house and concern to my attention as they came to them and explained everything about how they are, how they work, what they should be like, etc. . There was no waiting a couple days like other inspectors. The report was broken down into major repairs (over $1000), health and safety issues, maintenance issues, and a couple other categories. They will come out for a final walk through free of charge, the office has recommended companies to fix things they come up in the report, and if someone comes out and starts saying a repair they didn’t find exists or will be $$$$ they will come out again.
Jesse, the inspector, was incredibly observant, professional and provided us some really valuable insights. We are first time home buyers and he took the time to walk me through the property to help me understand any current and potential future issues which was so helpful. I learned a TON from him and we plan to use his notes as a guide for action items/projects when we take over the house. Beyond all of that, he was a very cool and approachable guy who made the entire process so easy and enjoyable.
