My name is Scott Hunt, the owner of SEASIDE HOME INSPECTION. I am a Massachusetts Licensed Professional Home Inspector No. 772 and a member of ASHI – American Society of Home Inspectors.

Before becoming a home inspector I spent over 30 years on active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard. I was a Senior Marine Inspector responsible for conducting detailed inspections on highly complex and technical machinery and structural systems for commercial vessels and wrote thousands of inspection reports.

Prior to joining the Coast Guard I worked as builder and roofing contractor. It’s with this experience and focus on detail and repetition that gives me the ability and can do attitude to pursue a career as a home inspector. My commitment to integrity, duty, and honesty means that you can have confidence that I will look out for your best interest and I will serve you to the best of my ability.

Scott is the type of guy that knows his craft and takes great pride in what he does. I’m a first time home owner and had quite a few concerns going in to my $650 + home. I did quite a bit of research and found Scott to be the true best Home Inspector on Cape Cod. We actually spent about 30 minutes on the phone talking before I even retained his services. I told him my concerns I actually put him on the spot several times during the conversation, and he convinced me with his passion about what he does, this was the inspector for me. Besides, when I asked my real estate agent about his reputation, She said, “Scott is the type of inspector that if you’re representing the buyer and you hear that he’s on the case, you realize THERE BETTER BE NOTHING significant wrong with that house! That’s how thorough he is.”

Scott conducted a home inspection for us on a place we are in the process of purchasing. He was professional, clearly knowledgeable at his craft, and extremely thorough with his inspection. Being first time buyers, we had a number of questions which he very patiently addressed in terms that we could understand. We had the completed report in our inbox the following morning. Moreover, we felt comfortable working with Scott. His easy confidence created reassurance in an otherwise stressful process.

Scott has performed two buyer’s home inspections for us, and we are so impressed with the level of service we received! Scott is extremely thorough and comprehensive in his inspection, taking the time to explain all of his findings and help us understand the mechanical and structural systems of the home. He finds every single problem and is sure to point it out! His detailed report, which we received within 24 hours, helped to explain all of the necessary repairs and we were able to use it to communicate with the seller about the concerns that needed to be addressed about the property. Scott was very easy to talk to and made the inspection process a very enjoyable and learning experience for us. We feel so fortunate that he was recommended to us, and if we ever have to inspect a house again, we will definitely call Scott!
