With over 40 years of home building experience, and multiple certifications and licenses, Sheila & Tommy Marr founded Southern Valley Services in 2011 to provide Energy Star Certification services for local builders. In 2012 services were expanded to provide energy auditing services to home owners in our region to help them discover ways to improve the comfort, health and energy efficiency of their homes. This is where we discovered our passion for what we do. Improving homes and the lives of the families that live in them.

The small details sealed my satisfaction. One of these details was the responsiveness in communication. Southern Valley was also the only vendor who was willing to install the exhaust pipe on the roof rather than on the wall. Another vendor that I didn’t go with offered roof penetration for an extra cost in certain areas but, due to my location, refused to do it.
Southern Valley Services sent out David Fletcher to inspect the project. The inspection, along with his expertise and knowledge, identified other issues in the crawlspace that I should have been aware of. These issues were unknown to contractors who gave me quotes over the phone or via email. David has been a great teacher.
Southern Valley Services provided excellent service in reference to radon mitigation. After determining that my radon levels were too high from my monitoring, I began to solicit quotes from various companies. Southern Valley was THE ONLY company to send a representative to the site. The other contractors, without exception, quoted me by phone or email.

Tommy Marr was very professional and very thorough. I greatly appreciate his service, and I would recommend him to anyone needing a home inspection.
He helped repair one of my can lights that was protruding from the ceiling. Tommy has been very good about maintaining email contact with me and had always phoned to let me know what was going on. I got my TVA rebate and the effects of the new insulation are very noticeable. My house maintains a very stable temperature.
