Our inspection from Up Close Home Inspection was a disappointment. After reading all of the positive reviews, we decided to call them to schedule an inspection for our first time home buy. The inspector was very knowledgeable and friendly during the whole process. We received the report in a timely manner and upon the initial look, it looked very complete. We decided to close on the house because the report was a success and there were no major issues that needed addressing right away. Fast forward a month- I decided to crawl up in the attic to check on things after a rain storm. It was then that I realized that the photos and description of the attic in the report were inaccurate and incomplete. The attic was described to have R-30 roll-type insulation which was approximately twenty years old. It was evident that the inspector did not inspect more than the initial entrance of the attic because the majority of the attic was insulated with mid-70s foam cubes which were only about an inch in thickness. Additionally, I found that the roof had been leaking for a long time and one of the support beams on the house was rotted away. New support beams were added and the roof leak fixed at one time, but incorrectly.

Inspection done on property prior to purchase. Inspector was thorough, explained issues well. Will use ‘Up Home’ anytime an inspection is needed.
